| Barney Parsons Associates was founded
in June 2006 to provide research services for the offshore
energy and marine industries.
Since then, BPA has carried out many projects, either
as an independent company, or in partnership with associates,
for a wide variety of companies and organisations in
the US, Norway and the UK. BPA clients have included
subsea engineering companies, subsea equipment suppliers,
chemical manufacturers, investment banks and the UK
government.
BPA specialist research services include:
- Customer referencing surveys in the energy
and marine industries
- Independent feedback from customers is often
of greater value to senior management than reports
from a sales force. A carefully-designed customer
interview programme can reveal detailed independent
opinions about many aspects of a company’s
performance from a customer viewpoint. This information
can be most useful for assessing how well a company
is meeting its strategic performance objectives.
A customer reference survey can also provide an
independent company reference during a due diligence
process.
BPA provides independent customer feedback
that is both qualitative and quantitative through
the use of individually tailored interview programmes.
A high level of confidentiality is maintained
and all BPA interviewers are highly experienced
industry professionals who are able to communicate
effectively with senior management.
BPA is now able to offer interviewing services
in most European languages.
- Market testing for new technologies in the
energy and marine industries
- Investment decisions for technology innovation
require input from the potential market. Research
into attitudes towards new technology and the
incentives and barriers to its adoption can indicate
an appropriate route to market. BPA employs a
structured research interview programme to assess
attitudes towards innovation and estimate market
potential for new technology applications.
- Forecasting future markets for industry
sectors
- BPA has experience in developing market models
in many energy and marine sectors and uses forecasting
techniques to derive estimates of the likely future
performance of individual industry sectors. These
forecasts are based on a number of energy and
marine datasets to which BPA has access. Data
from a BPA interview programme can provide additional
input into a market forecast.
